Twenty-five years ago came the PREMIO CHARLOT , entitled to the greatest comedian of the twentieth century actor. He took his first steps as a project talent scout of emerging young people to get noticed for outstanding comedic skills in every region of Italy.
Even today this event, acknowledged among the most reliable in the national media , does not stop to look for what new moves in the diverse world of comedy with unflagging enthusiasm.
Every year a more complete technical picture is made available to professionals in order to improve the proposals and create an appointment at 360 degrees on the comic that gives the new space as well as the events predominate in the course of ‘year.
The care and attention to details have brought excellent results. Just a few names of the participants among emerging artists: Vergassola, Mammucari, Barbaro, Di Carlo, Pumpkin, Cassini, Mr. Forest, Ale and Franz and many other artists who later took part in the famous Zelig program . The Gala of Comedy have been consecrated by the trust and the presence of large Italian names: Alberto Sordi, Nino Manfredi, Renzo Arbore, Enrico Montesano, Ciccio Ingrassia, Gino Bramieri, Oreste Lionello, Pino Caruso, Carlo Verdone, Gassman, Gigi Proietti, Mariangela Spalato, Giorgio Panariello, Bud Spencer, Fiorello, Gino Paoli, Cludio Brick, Giancarlo Giannini, Claudia Cardinale, Gianni Mina, Christian De Sica, Maurizio Scaparro and Clement Mimun.
From the thirteenth edition in 2001, the Festival becomes a NATIONAL AWARD . A gradual transformation, from the of emerging Festival (1989 – 1994) National Review (1995 – 2000) , with the introduction of a Journalists Jury in May vote for the award of the prize to the candidates comedians in several categories: Television, Cinema and Theatre ( Gala of comedy ). Every year the festival is followed by nearly 50,000 spectators and committed accommodation facilities, hotels, restaurants and many commercial activities on the whole territory.
The exponential growth in terms of visibility and promotion of the event is evidenced by the strong interest of the newspapers and TV networks local and national: national news, airing on BBC in Italy and RAI International in Canada and America, the special Radio 2 .

A jury of journalists from several national newspapers, both television that the press, meets every year in the month of May and decide the winners of the names of the various sections of comedy, divided between Cinema, Television and Theatre. The final evening is the real Gala which provides for the allocation of prestigious awards for sections Cinema, Theatre, Television and Fiction.
The event, sponsored by all the major national networks, is televised by RAI and in radio RADIO2.
